Truck Driver CDL A Local

Position Description Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Tampa, FL. Pay ranges from $1,115 to $1,337 per week, with an hourly rate of $27.89 plus a $5.55 health & welfare stipend. Typical schedule is Monday through Saturday, 12:00 AM – 4:00 AM dispatch with 40-hour weeks. Route: Local Home Daily, within 150-mile radius of Tampa, FL. Equipment: Dry van 53′ trailer and rolling carts. Freight: Touch – US Mail. Driver positions are paid and employment includes paid training and 24/7 roadside maintenance support. Benefits Medical, dental & vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO in first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid) Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided Drivers have control and safety decisions, job protected 401(k) rollover available now with company match at 1 year 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Requirements Minimum 21 years of age Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position Must have Class A CDL experience: 9 months within past 3 years, OR 2 years within past 5 years, OR 5 years within past 10 years Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures Additional Screening Secondary background screen – Federal Level 2 conducted by USPS Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959 unless exempt Responsibilities Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines. Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards. Maintains accurate records and logs. Load/unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by the customer.
