Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license with current credentials
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• At least one year of recent experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Permanent address located 50 miles or more from the facility
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork abilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care for medical-surgical patients, including assessments, medication administration, and monitoring for changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to implement patient-centered treatment plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record
• Respond swiftly to emergencies and follow established protocols for acute changes
• Educate patients and families on post-acute care, medications, and follow-up instructions
• Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment while adapting to the demands of a busy Med Surg unit
