Lead Mechanical Engineer

job summary:
Our client is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a direct hire postion to lead EPC power plant design and cross-functional coordination. This role requires 10+ years of power/energy experience, excellent leadership skills, and an active PE license to oversee critical infrastructure projects, manage budgets, and direct engineering teams. Relocation assistance is available.

responsibilities:

• Serve as the Mechanical Lead on EPC power and industrial projects, driving design execution and power coordination.
• Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of engineers and designers while conducting technical reviews.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and man-hour estimates.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate vendor bids, and review technical documentation for major power plant equipment.
• Seal and sign engineering documents as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and ensure code compliance.
