Associate Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join its Rocky Hill, CT office. This position offers an opportunity for a junior attorney to develop litigation skills in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in general litigation and strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Duties Assist with all phases of defense litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda. Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive reports and legal analysis. Participate in court conferences, depositions, and hearings as appropriate. Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with client guidelines. Maintain accurate time records and billing entries. Requirements 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting. Admission to practice in Connecticut (additional bar admissions in NY, NJ, or PA are a plus). Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a demonstrated work ethic. Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines consistently. Federal court or appellate experience is a plus, but not required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the Connecticut Bar.
