INPATIENT THERAPIST (LICENSED)-FT

Responsibilities Inpatient Therapist - FT Opportunity. West Oaks Hospital, located near the Galleria, offers a 176‑bed acute care facility. We provide behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults, including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services. The Inpatient Therapist will provide direct care to patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions in an acute setting, collaborating with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support treatment and discharge planning. The role includes continuous personal development and works with adult, adolescent, children and geriatric patients. Job Duties/Responsibilities Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment plan reviews, individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy sessions within established timeframes, either face‑to‑face or telephonically, with all patients, families and significant others. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, RNs, care managers and other healthcare team members in crisis intervention; create behavioral plans, case conferences, client‑centered interventions and discharge planning. Conduct assigned therapeutic groups and provide comprehensive education, instructions and advocacy information designed to assist patients and significant others to identify and secure needed health‑care follow‑up services. Preferred: Master’s in social work. Licensure: LPC, LPC‑A, LMFT, or LMSW. CPR and hospital de‑escalation certifications. Experience required: One to three years of clinical experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Chemical dependency experience preferred.
