Travel Mammography Job Details

• Location: Eureka, California
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,190–$2,350
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
• Assignment Dates: November 16, 2026 through February 15, 2027
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts
• Shift Hours: Approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Hours per Week: 40
• Healthcare Setting: On-site mammography and diagnostic imaging
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
• Additional Scheduling Information: Some holiday coverage may be required, and occasional floating to nearby affiliated locations may be requested.

Mammography Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience required
• Recent travel healthcare experience required
• Current California radiologic technologist license or required state authorization
• ARRT certification in Mammography (ARRT-M) and Radiography (ARRT-R)
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with digital mammography and 3D mammography, including Hologic systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic mammograms, screening mammograms, stereotactic biopsy, and needle localization procedures
• Knowledge of radiation safety, universal precautions, isolation precautions, and digital quality assurance procedures
• Ability to work effectively with PACS and mammography imaging systems
• Strong communication, patient-care, and documentation skills

Travel Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations for adult and geriatric patients
• Operate digital and 3D mammography equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations, and other specialized breast imaging procedures
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, promote comfort, and maintain patient privacy throughout examinations
• Follow radiation safety standards and applicable clinical protocols
• Complete image quality checks and digital quality assurance activities
• Accurately document procedures and imaging results in the electronic medical record and PACS
• Collaborate with radiologists and the broader radiology team to support timely, high-quality diagnostic care
• Provide appropriate patient education, including breast self-exam guidance when applicable
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant imaging environment
