Job Opportunity: Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider

Our organization is on the lookout for a dedicated Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider with a genuine interest in cardiothoracic surgery services to join our team in Boise, Idaho. The ideal candidate will embrace a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to inpatient care, working closely with our Cardiothoracic Surgeons.

• Assist in all cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Manage the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and the step-down unit.
• Collaborate with a team consisting of three surgeons, eight Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), four specialized anesthesiologists, and four perfusionists.
• Contribute to a dedicated floor featuring a 10-bed CVICU, three Cardiovascular Operating Rooms (CVORs), and a 6-bed step-down unit.
• Participate in performing over 350 open-heart surgeries and more than 175 thoracic surgeries, including 80 robotic lobectomies, along with over 160 TAVRs and 75 MitraClips.
• Engage in specialized practices such as adult cardiac surgery, aortic surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, robotic thoracic surgery, and hybrid Maze procedures for Atrial Fibrillation treatment.
• Implant and manage ECMO and Impella 5.5 devices.
• Participate in the STS Registry and contribute to quality and outcomes improvement initiatives.
• Involve in cutting-edge clinical research and educational opportunities to enhance the cardiothoracic field.

The initial surgical orientation may consist of five 8-hour shifts for approximately three months, transitioning to four 10-hour shifts per week, typically from 6 AM to 4 PM.

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho.
• Valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
• Experience in vein harvesting is required.
• A robust medical background with a commitment to developing a practice that supports a growing multi-specialty medical group.
• Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiac disease management is preferred.
