HR Onboarding Coordinator (Contract)

Job Type: Contract / Temporary
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Onboarding Coordinator to support a busy Human Resources team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, coordinating multiple priorities, and creating a positive onboarding experience for new employees.
The HR Onboarding Coordinator will be responsible for managing onboarding activities, ensuring compliance with employment documentation requirements, coordinating orientation schedules, and serving as a key point of contact for new hires throughout the onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees.
- Prepare, distribute, and track new hire paperwork and onboarding documentation.
- Ensure completion and compliance of I-9s, tax forms, and employment-related documents.
- Schedule orientations, training sessions, background checks, and pre-employment requirements.
- Maintain and update employee records within HR systems and databases.
- Partner with hiring managers, recruiters, payroll, and IT teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Monitor onboarding timelines and follow up on outstanding documentation.
- Assist with employee communications regarding benefits enrollment, company policies, and onboarding expectations.
- Provide administrative support for HR initiatives and special projects as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR records.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Human Resources, onboarding, recruiting coordination, administrative support, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience working with HRIS systems and electronic onboarding platforms preferred.
- Knowledge of employment documentation and HR compliance processes is a plus.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
