Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Providing specialized nursing care in a same-day outpatient surgery setting, this role supports pre-operative and post-operative patients through efficient and compassionate care. The RN will collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health history, vital signs, and coordination of pre-operative preparations.
• Initiate IV lines, administer medications, and assist with surgical procedures as required.
• Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and post-surgical care guidance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Adhere to safety protocols, infection control standards, and unit policies.
• Support a team environment by communicating effectively with staff and participating in shift handovers.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state certification.
• Minimum of 2 years' clinical experience in outpatient surgery or perioperative care.
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, patient assessment, and surgical preparation processes.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and standard hospital equipment.
• Certification in BLS and ALS.
• Experience working with surgical patients in both pre-operative and post-operative roles preferred.
