Advanced Project Engineer, Gas Turbine Engines

As an Advanced APU Project Engineer at Honeywell on the B-52 Stratofortress APU program, you will coordinate and communicate with cross‑functional teams, foster collaboration and ensure effective project coordination. You will report directly to our Sr. Program Engineering Manager and work in our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule. For the first 90 days, new hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M‑F. In this role, you impact the company’s success by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of complex engineering products, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Responsibilities Lead design activities for the B‑52 APU development program. Work with functional experts to identify root cause and corrective actions for complex and ambiguous technical challenges. Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Develop technical change proposals for OEM customers to resolve SRDs and other technical issues. Proactively manage and mitigate project risks to maintain project performance. Provide technical guidance and support to project newer team members. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline. 3+ years of experience in project engineering or related roles. Prior experience and technical knowledge of gas turbine engines. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex engineering projects. Experience in risk management and problem‑solving to mitigate project risks and issues effectively. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. We Value Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies relevant to engineering projects. Experience with earned value management systems for military programs. Knowledge of auxiliary power units (APU) and APU installations.
