Make a positive difference working as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a dynamic school environment near Palo Alto, CA. In this contract position, you'll deliver individualized educational programs and help create an encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to reach their goals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Proven experience working with students who have diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary instructional team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of IEP processes and compliance requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement specialized lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Modify curriculum and teaching strategies to support student learning and success
- Conduct IEP meetings, document goals, and track student progress
- Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Communicate with parents and guardians, providing regular updates and resources
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
