About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive/Critical Care Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient ICU experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing experience, patient assessment skills, care plan development, clinical intervention monitoring, and patient and family education Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN prioritizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Key responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition and making sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, implements, and revises the plan of care, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions are essential. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. Leadership duties include delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel, functioning as a mentor or preceptor, and promoting teamwork. The RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement, participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts, and implements practice changes. Complying with regulatory standards is a critical aspect of the role. The RN participates in the Practice Governance model.
