Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Clyde, NC, requiring 2-3+ years of ED experience and at least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a 17-bed Emergency Department at a 154-bed acute care hospital
• Joint Commission Accredited facility with a designated Chest Pain Center
• Primary patient population is adult and geriatric, with some pediatric cases
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, and psychiatric presentations
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• EMR: ED Paragon
• Day shift hours: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• Every other weekend required, unless the opposing position is held by a dedicated weekender
• No on-call or float requirements
• Self-scheduling managed through the When to Work app
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (all must be AHA-issued)
• Minimum education: ADN or higher
• Ability to efficiently and safely manage a team of patients across varying acuity levels
• Ability to recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients across a range of acuity levels
• Orientation runs on a bi-weekly cycle
• Navy blue scrubs required; HRMC t-shirts are acceptable — hoodie sweatshirts are not permitted
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Located in Clyde, NC, approximately 20 miles from Asheville and within driving distance of the Great Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, and other regional destinations
