SUMMARY

This role works with general tooling, fixtures, die, and production work related to Alloy Precision Technologies (APT) production operations. It involves setting up and operating many types of machine tools, including engine lathes, mills, grinders, and other fabricating and miscellaneous equipment. All duties will be performed to meet or exceed Customer, AS9100/ISO9001 and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct self at all times to APT policies and procedures under the current revision. This role reports to the Tool Room Supervisor. Support making tooling and fixture need requests from Production, Engineering, Sales, Maintenance, and Machining areas. Apply general basic machining skills through the use of fundamental shop equipment, materials. General working knowledge of speeds and feeds of materials. General materials knowledge for assisting in prescribing/applying the proper materials for the desired application. Ability to use a wide variety of gauges, comparator, and general shop practices to accomplish desired results. Ability to convert verbal rough ideas and sketches into desired final product. Support production work on and processes that require basic machining processes. Flexible to support CNC production machining on an as‑needed basis. Make suggestions for improvements of applications, fixtures, etc. Be a resource for those who may need to run the basic equipment to assure proper operation, safety, and general use.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

REQUIREMENTS

Pay is based on experience level.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

HS diploma required. Basic machining knowledge, with 1 year production experience or vocational training preferred. Tool & Die or other machinist certifications are a plus. Capable of reading blueprints. Be willing to learn. Must have a high level of energy, self‑starter, be results‑oriented, confident, and have strong organization skills. Flexibility and being proactive are instrumental to the success of this role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to move throughout the shop floor. Must be able to lift and bend. Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.
