Clarvida is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our Catalyst ACT team in San Diego, CA. This full-time position offers an opportunity to use your lived experience to mentor and support Transitional Age Youth (TAY, ages 16-25) with serious mental illness and housing instability. You'll assist clients in recovery, strengthen peer relationships, and collaborate with clinical staff in a trauma-informed, person-centered care environment.
Responsibilities- Provide peer mentoring, support, motivation, and advocacy to clients
- Assist clients with daily living skills, appointments, and transportation
- Facilitate peer-led groups, social events, and community integration activities
- Coordinate with external agencies, resources, and community partners to support client goals
- Document services and maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical, and program standards
- Carry a client caseload and work in the field
- Participate in team meetings, crisis response, training, and program planning
- Lived experience as a consumer of mental health services or closely supporting someone who has
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred but not required)
- Valid California driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 1 year of peer support or related experience
