Position Overview The Assistant Director of Transfer Advising Operations will lead the operational infrastructure for transfer student advising within the Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (OUESS). This role includes developing, assessing, and improving advising processes; providing training and professional development to the advising community; and ensuring data‑driven decision making for transfer pathway initiatives. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive academic advising for transfer students, particularly those considering major changes, minors, certificates, or facing academic difficulties. Oversee the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of advising programs in alignment with strategic goals. Coordinate advising and onboarding support for students, and contribute to orientation and transition programs. Teach a section of GT2000 (or equivalent) each academic year as lead instructor. Develop and implement workshops, webinars, and promotional materials for academic planning and experiential learning. Maintain regular communication with the advising community regarding programming, opportunities, and updates. Collaborate with Undergraduate Curricular Initiatives and the Career Center to align advising with curricular changes and career advising efforts. Manage program operations, including website maintenance, report preparation, and data analysis to inform future programming. Supervise and support the advising team, conducting performance reviews. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's degree. Five to six years of relevant experience in advising, coaching, or a related field. Proficiency with student information systems such as Slate, BANNER, and EAB Navigate360; familiarity with Degree Works. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ten years of relevant experience in advising, coaching, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Additional professional certification in advising or coaching. Experience supporting transfer credit evaluation and/or degree audit processes. 3–5 years direct or related experience in academic advising, transfer services, registrar operations, or transfer student success operations. Advanced training or coursework on transfer student populations, including knowledge of transfer educational experiences and barriers to success. Experience working with transfer student athletes. Track record of partnering with campus stakeholders to improve transfer pathways and outcomes. Ability to use Excel and assessment practices in higher education. Knowledge of GT programs of study and general education requirements.
