Visual Inspector

Precision Fluid Controls, Inc. designs, manufactures and tests components for launch vehicles and ground support applications—providing many types of valves including throttling valves, ball valves, check and relief valves, vent and relief valves, pressure reducing, both manual and dome loaded, regulators, sleeve valves, butterfly valves, solenoid valves plus many others. About the role Visual Inspectors are responsible for examining manufactured products, components, and materials to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. This role is critical to maintaining product integrity and preventing defective items from advancing through our processes or reaching customers. What You’ll Do Inspect finished goods, in-process components, and raw materials using the naked eye and optical tools such as microscopes or borescopes. Compare products against engineering drawings, material certs, and quality control standards to identify defects including surface scratches, damage, discoloration, dimensional irregularities, contamination, and assembly errors. Reject non-conforming products and communicate defects to supervisors and engineers or program managers in order to support analysis and corrective action. Operate basic inspection equipment such as profilometers and gauges. Follow work instructions, and safety guidelines at all times. Maintain a clean and organized inspection station. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on issues observed during inspection. What You’ll Need Strong attention to detail, consistency, integrity in reporting, time management, teamwork, and the ability to follow procedures and verbal instructions precisely. The ability to maintain concentration during repetitive tasks is essential. Adequate visual acuity – with or without correction – is required to detect fine defects. Basic reading and math skills are necessary to interpret work instructions, drawings, and measurement data. Visual Inspectors need strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently under minimal supervision, and a safety-first mindset aligned with aerospace quality culture.
