Manual Machinist - 1st Shift | Overtime Available

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:45 PM
Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pro Resources is hiring a Manual Machinist for a well-established metal manufacturing company in Indianapolis. If you take pride in precision work and have hands-on experience with manual mills and lathes, this is a great opportunity to join a stable shop with consistent hours and steady overtime.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate manual mills, engine lathes, presses, and cutting tools
• Machine metal parts to tight tolerances based on blueprints and specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Adjust tooling, speeds, and feeds to maintain quality and efficiency
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine machine maintenance
• Monitor workflow and production timelines to keep jobs on track
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on manual machining experience required (mills, engine lathes, or similar)
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and stay productive in a fast-paced shop
• Reliable attendance and commitment to safety and quality
• CNC experience is a plus, but not required

Schedule & Overtime

• Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:45 PM
• Average 10 hours of overtime per week
• Occasional Saturdays (4-5 hours)
