Senior Human Resources Generalist

The St Vincent De Paul Society of Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to lead talent acquisition and provide broad human resources support across the organization. This onsite role in Los Angeles, CA combines full-cycle recruiting with day-to-day HR expertise, helping the organization hire effectively and support employees through key lifecycle moments. With a salary of USD 75,000 per year , this position is designed for an experienced HR professional who can balance recruitment execution, compliance, employee engagement, and performance support in a mission-driven nonprofit setting. Key Responsibilities Lead full-cycle recruitment for all roles across the organization. Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract qualified and diverse candidates. Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and hiring priorities. Screen applicants, coordinate interviews, conduct reference checks, and facilitate offers. Build relationships with community partners, colleges, workforce development programs, and professional organizations . Manage the applicant tracking system and maintain recruitment metrics. Coordinate job fairs, networking events, and recruitment outreach efforts. Develop and implement strategies to improve retention and help reduce turnover. Support employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes. Assist with employee engagement and recognition initiatives. Assist with policy implementation . Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws . Maintain confidentiality of employee information. Support HR audits and reporting requirements. Coordinate employee training and professional development opportunities. Support leadership development and succession planning efforts. Assist with performance evaluation processes. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience. Minimum 3 years of full-cycle recruitment experience. Experience in nonprofit, social services, homelessness services, behavioral health, or community-based organizations strongly preferred. Strong recruiting and talent acquisition expertise. Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong reviewing and candidate assessment abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment .
