Shift: 5x8 hours (08:00 AM 05:00 PM)

Hours/Week: 40

Employment Type: Contract (26 weeks)

Licenses/Certifications: CA optometry license, BLS required

Experience: Minimum 3 years working with pediatric populations in medical settings; pediatric residency highly preferred

Hourly Pay Rate: $160.80

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized pediatric optometry care, including vision exams and assessments for patients of diverse cognitive abilities
• Conduct complex contact lens fittings for children, including pediatric and binocular vision cases
• Support staff with diagnostic imaging and work-ups using advanced equipment
• Manage patients with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, seizures, and facial abnormalities
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and specialty providers for co-management of complex cases
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR; prioritize high-quality, compassionate service
• Support the department's mission to serve all pediatric patients with sensitivity and expertise

What You Need

• Active California optometry license
• BLS certification
• At least 3 years' experience working with pediatric populations in a medical setting, including complex cases or residency training
• Proven ability to handle patients with diverse needs, including those on the spectrum or with developmental delays
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team-oriented attitude
