Local Travel Phlebotomist

Local travel phlebotomist in Susanville, CA on a 13-week contract. Provide essential patient care by performing venipuncture and specimen collection. Earn up to $1,650 per week based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Verify patient identities and explain collection procedures to ensure comfort.
• Label, process, and transport specimens per laboratory protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and bloodborne pathogen safety guidelines.
• Keep workspaces clean and supplies stocked.
• Communicate effectively with lab staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Identify and report specimen discrepancies or collection-related concerns.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program or equivalent education.
• California phlebotomy certification or licensure required.
• Current BLS certification may be required.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, specimen collection, and specimen handling.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent patient care and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and patient privacy standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare environment.
• Willingness to complete client-specific onboarding and screening requirements.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous phlebotomy experience in a hospital, laboratory, or clinical setting.
