Other qualifications include:Washington State Dental Assistant Registration (Preferred)1+ years of dental assisting experienceCPR and WISHA certification (Preferred)Experience working with children (Preferred)Excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients, parents, and clinic staffAbility to pass a pre-employment background and professional references checkWhat You'll Do:As a pediatric dental assistant, you will work chairside with the doctor to promote good dental and general health through education and patient interaction. A typical day will consist of:Preparing patients for treatment and ensuring a comfortable experienceAssisting with fillings, stainless steel crowns, extractions, and other pediatric proceduresPerforming coronal polishing (prophies), fluoride treatments, and sealantsTaking digital x-rays and dental impressionsSterilizing instruments and disinfecting operatoriesAssisting with four handed and six handed dentistryEducating parents and patients on oral hygiene and post-op careCharting treatment notes accurately and managing documentationSupporting infection control and inventory managementCollaborating with a positive, patient centered teamBe the reason a child smiles today and for the rest of their life.
