IT Project Manager -AI

IT Project Manager to manage and deliver several AI projects for a client in the insurance industry. The company is in the suburbs north of Chicago, IL and the position is a 6+ month contract engagement focused on delivery governance, stakeholder and team management, and overall project execution. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, risk management, budget oversight, and ensuring any relevant vendors meet contractual obligations and delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple AI initiatives, which are still in the early stages of scope definition and solution design
• - Initiatives will focus on optimizing existing business processes to increase productivity, rather than replacing systems or personnel
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Serve as liaison between internal teams and third-party vendors
• Hold vendors accountable to SLAs and milestones
• Identify and mitigate project risks and issues
• Provide regular project status and executive updates

• 8+ years of IT Project Management experience
• Strong IT team management track record is critical
• Solid vendor management and project governance background
• Experience managing and delivering AI projects (preferably in targeted use cases aimed at business process optimization)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in insurance or financial services preferred
