Job Title: Capital Construction Leader

Summary:

Lead the execution of more than 100 capital and construction projects annually, managing a $20-$25 million investment portfolio that directly supports plant operations, infrastructure improvements, and site growth. Working closely with contractors, construction teams, and plant leadership, you'll oversee projects in the field, ensuring safe execution, quality workmanship, schedule adherence, and cost control.

This is a highly visible role for a hands-on construction leader who thrives on driving projects from mobilization through completion, resolving field challenges, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering tangible results. Your leadership will help modernize facilities, improve operational reliability, and ensure critical projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee and manage a portfolio of 100+ capital construction projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation to completion.

• Develop, track, and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

• Provide strategic leadership in project planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

• Contribute to cost-saving opportunities, implement value engineering strategies, and drive financial efficiency across projects.

• Lead and manage a diverse group of contractors (10-50 personnel), ensuring alignment with project goals and safety standards.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

• Develop and mentor project managers, engineers, and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

• Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and plant-specific policies.

• Champion a safety-first culture by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols and promoting proactive safety training and education.

• Investigate any safety incidents, recommend corrective actions, and continually improve safety measures on construction sites.

• Drive initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, minimizing delays, and improving resource utilization across all projects.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and lean construction principles.

• Ensure all projects are compliant with relevant legal, regulatory, and environmental standards.

• Proactively manage project risks, including changes in scope, schedule, and cost, and develop mitigation plans.

• Monitor and report on project performance, identifying issues early and taking corrective action as necessary.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training, engineering or technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 5-10+ years of experience in maintenance or construction management within an industrial setting.
• Proven track record of delivering results through program development, leadership of teams, and/or through direct reports
• Demonstrated ability to be effective in a matrixed organization and excellent service to internal customers
• Knowledge of chemical manufacturing maintenance systems and techniques as well as knowledge of maintenance excellence practices
• Self-starter, ability to independently identify improvement opportunities and act with limited direction

The following are preferred for the role:

• Knowledge of basic project management practices
• Prior maintenance supervision, scheduling, or planning experience
• Asbestos Licensure

What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $122,500 - $179,300

The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
