CW is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our landscaping fleet running at full throttle. From John Deere tractors to zero-turn mowers and beyond, you'll be the go-to expert keeping our crews moving and our projects on track.Diagnose and repair John Deere tractors with flex-wing mower attachments used for large-area turf maintenance.Service and maintain zero-turn mowers, pickup trucks, equipment trailers, and a water truck to ensure they're ready for daily use.Troubleshoot and repair small engine equipment such as trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws.Test-operate equipment after repairs to confirm proper function and safety.Perform welding or fabrication work to repair or reinforce equipment parts when needed.Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; request replacements as needed.Assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment for transport.Train or guide crew members on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance practices.Stay up to date on manufacturer service updates and technical bulletins.Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all mechanical and motorized landscaping equipment.Maintain accurate service logs documenting repairs and maintenance performed.Coordinate with landscaping crews and supervisors to schedule maintenance with minimal downtime.Ensure all equipment meets company and regulatory safety standards.What You'll Need to Be Successful:Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Small Engine Technician.Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining tractors, mowers, trailers, trucks, and small engine equipmentExperience working in a landscaping, construction, municipal, or agriculturalExperience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices.Valid driver's license.Valid RealIDMust be able to obtain and maintain government base access.Bonus If You Have These Skills:Technical certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics.Welding and fabrication skills for custom repairs or reinforcements.Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and small engine systems.Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins.Strong communication skills and the ability to work with field crews and supervisors.Team-oriented with good communication skills.Why You'll Love This Job:You'll be a part of a mission-driven team that values your hard work and helps you grow.Access to an Employee Wellness Coordinator and robust wellness program that support your health and work-life balance.Opportunities for advancement—grow your career with us!Physical & Environmental Demands:Standing and Movement: Frequently stand, walk, and move across large outdoor areas for extended periods of time during the workday.Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more; occasional team lifting may be required for heavier items.Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, digging, trimming, and raking throughout the shift.Manual Dexterity: Use hands and arms to operate landscaping tools and equipment, including trimmers, blowers, mowers, and other hand tools, requiring strength and coordination.Climbing and Balancing: Occasionally climb ladders, steps, or uneven terrain and maintain balance while performing work on slopes or landscaped areas.Endurance: Ability to sustain physical labor and consistent activity throughout the workday, often under physically demanding conditions.Outdoor Work Environment: Work is performed primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and direct sunlight.Temperature Exposure: Regular exposure to extreme temperatures depending on seasonal conditions.Noise Levels: Frequent exposure to moderate to high noise levels from power tools and landscaping equipment; hearing protection may be required.Airborne Particles: Exposure to dust, dirt, grass clippings, pollen, and other outdoor elements.Equipment Use: Operation of motorized landscaping equipment and tools, requiring adherence to safety protocols at all times.Terrain: Work on uneven, sloped, or rough ground surfaces, including grass, soil, gravel, and paved areas.PPE Requirements: Use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility clothing as required.Safety Risks: Potential exposure to hazards such as sharp tools, moving equipment, insects, and environmental conditions; strict adherence to safety procedures is required.Reasonable accommodations can be provided.CW's Core Values: Mission Driven, Teamwork Makes Us Stronger, & Everyone Brings Value!We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
