We are looking for a proven production operations leader to serve in a senior leadership capacity within a rapidly growing global live sports production organization. This is not a role for someone looking to inherit a playbook. Our production operation is purpose-built around the needs of an expanding, multi-sport live portfolio rather than modeled after a traditional broadcast network structure. We are defining and building as we evolve, and this person must be ready to shape what comes next.As Sr. Manager, Production Operations, you will be a key leader within the Production Operations group, extending operational reach across the Prime Video Live Sports organization. You will manage a team of production operations leads and define the operational blueprint for how the function scales alongside a business that spans event, studio, and remote production formats across multiple sports properties throughout the year. This role is central to balancing internal capabilities with external partnerships, continuously evaluating the right operational approach as the business evolves.You will own the end-to-end production lifecycle across multiple properties, from financial modeling and scoping through vendor procurement, operational design, and boots-on-the-ground execution. This role demands someone who can operate at a strategic and tactical level: building for scale while ensuring flawless execution across concurrent live sports productions.The successful candidate brings deep live sports production acumen, strategic operations experience, and financial rigor. They have built production budgets and operational frameworks from the ground up, not just managed what was handed to them. They are comfortable navigating ambiguity, making high-judgment calls with incomplete information, and driving alignment across a complex stakeholder landscape. Key job responsibilities• Strategic Leadership and Team Development: Lead and develop a team of production operations leads, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development. Set clear goals, drive accountability, and build a high-performance culture grounded in operational excellence. Serve as a senior operational voice across the organization, partnering with senior production leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to set strategic direction and extend operational reach across the portfolio. • Production Operations and Multi-Property Oversight: Own the end-to-end production lifecycle for multiple concurrent live sports properties across event, studio, and remote formats, from business scoping and roadmap development through execution, operational oversight, and post-season reconciliation. Drive launch readiness and transition planning for new and returning properties, ensuring continuity and incorporating prior-season learnings. Serve as the primary operational point of contact for properties across cross-functional partners, vendors, and league relationships.• Vendor Strategy and Production Service Partner Relationships: Influence and shape vendor engagement strategy at a senior level, driving evaluation, selection, and strategic recommendations that optimize cost, quality, and scalability across the portfolio. Build and maintain relationships, leading RFP processes and serving as the senior point of contact for vendors on scope of work, deliverables, engagement standards, and performance accountability. Partner with Legal and Production Finance on contract terms, rate frameworks, and commercial agreements. Identify opportunities to consolidate vendor relationships and drive cost efficiency at scale.• Financial Strategy & Budget Oversight: Drive financial modeling, scoping, and cost architecture for assigned properties, building production budgets from the ground up rather than tracking spend against inherited templates. Manage multi-property production budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end reconciliation in partnership with Production Finance. Deliver regular financial status updates to senior leadership, proactively flagging variances, recommending corrective action, and identifying cost optimization strategies across the portfolio.• Operational Scaling and Growth: Champion the development of operational frameworks, SOPs, and systems that enable the Production Operations team to scale with increasing property volume and complexity. Assess existing production models and recommend changes to operational strategy, seeking alignment with stakeholders and implementing improvements at regular intervals.• Crewing Coordination and Labor Compliance: Oversee crew deployment through third-party vendors, establishing consistent frameworks for how Above-The-Line (ATL) and Below-The-Line (BTL) personnel are engaged across productions. Navigate union and non-union production environments, ensuring third-party partners adhere to all applicable labor regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and workforce compliance standards across domestic and international markets.• Cross-Functional Leadership: Manage critical interdependencies across Legal, Production Finance, Business Development, Technical Operations, Accounting, and Editorial Production to drive alignment and operational synergy. Influence outcomes across stakeholder groups through clear written and verbal communication.• On-Site Operations and Risk Management: Oversee on-site event production operations, including venue logistics, coordination with league and arena broadcast groups, and boots-on-the-ground production management. Ensure Health and Safety protocols and risk management standards are maintained across all production environments. Maintain contingency plans for live production scenarios and proactively identify and mitigate operational risks in advance of air.About the teamThe Production Operations team is responsible for delivering high-quality event and studio productions on all global live sports properties to Prime Video customers worldwide. We drive production excellence through purpose-built processes and scalable operational frameworks that empower the team to work more efficiently and grow with increasing demand.Basic qualifications- 6+ years of producer, production manager or line producer experience- 7+ years of production executives management experience- 6+ years of budgeting, scheduling and cost reporting experience- Knowledge of cutting-edge production technologies and delivery workflows- Experience with above-the-line and below-the-line unions and guilds- 15+ years in live sports production operations or production management, with hands-on experience across remote, studio, and event formats. Demonstrated people management experience, including hiring, developing, and leading production teams through periods of growth or organizational changes. Has managed the end-to-end production lifecycle for multiple live sports properties concurrently. Has led vendor and Production Service Partner selection, negotiation, and relationship management at scale. Established relationships across vendors in the live sports industry. Has built production budgets and financial models from scratch, not solely managed budgets built by others. Has worked cross-functionally across legal, finance, business development, and technical operations teams. Strong executive communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present operational updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.Preferred qualification - 5+ years of big-budget films and or/series for premium cable or streaming experience- Experience in all forms of unscripted television (e.g., competition, docu-follow, shiny floor, lifestyle, sports) across all budget levels- Experience in a streaming or non-traditional broadcast production environment where operational models are being built rather than inherited. International production experience across multiple territories, with an understanding of how to tailor production models to local labor markets and customer expectations. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
