Scale Operator - West Nyack, Ny

Tilcon New York Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a scale operator for our West Nyack quarry. This employee operates an industrial truck scale to weigh inbound and outbound vehicles. They are responsible for recording information such as truck type, gross vehicle weights, customer, and product information for billing purposes. They must have the ability to communicate well, exhibit strong problem-solving and customer service skills, work safely, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Must have the ability to work at all Tilcon NY locations where and when needed. The hours for this role are 5am-3pm.

Core Responsibilities:

• Scale Operations: Operate the scale system to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Data Entry and Reporting: Record weight accurately into system for billing and inventory purposes.
• Customer Service: Greet and gather necessary information from drivers. Dispatch trucks using the daily schedule for delivered loads.
• Safety and Compliance: Comply with all Tilcon NY and CRH safety procedures and protocol, alerting appropriate supervisors of unsafe conditions, as necessary.
• Equipment Maintenance/Troubleshooting: Trouble shoot scale, printer and computer hardware issues and notify appropriate personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school or its equivalent, plus at least 6 months' experience in clerical work.
• State certified weighmaster license (scheduled upon hire)
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and company procedures as outlined in company policies, including but not limited to wearing PPE at all times.
• Ability to communicate effectively with and work professionally with other personnel.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Experience in customer service and end of day reconciliation.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Must be able to work 3rd shift.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate.
• The employee is required to remain stationary and move for periods of time.
• The employee is required to use a computer for extended periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust to focus.
• They may frequently move and reach, lower oneself to the floor or rise to a higher position.
• Employees in this job may continuously use fine motor skills, repetitive motions, move left and right.
• This position requires an employee to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

• This job will require both office work and field work.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to hot weather, cold weather, wet weather, humid weather, dust, as well as noise.
• They will continuously work with others and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to high heat.
• In the office, the noise level is usually quiet.
