Details Work in the Surgical Oncology unit of a hospital environment 30-bed unit staffed with approximately 48 nurses, PCTs, and HUCs Day and night shifts each staffed with 1 CNC, 5-6 RNs, and 2 PCTs Patient ratios of approximately 1:5 to 1:6 Uses equipment including Baxter pumps, SCD machines, MobiLab, and glucometers EMR system is Meditech Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month required Floating required to Medical Oncology and Med/Surg units Requirements Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand Current BLS certification required Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) certification required for all RNs working in Oncology Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Surgical Oncology or related specialty required No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment start No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months IV insertion and chemotherapy administration skills preferred Strong communication and compassion/empathy skills required Additional Information Provide direct patient care including medication administration, chest tube management, NGT management, and Foley catheter management Must be able to work effectively as part of a team Must adhere to unit attendance policy Royal blue scrub attire required Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-745631.
