Diesel Mechanic Technician A

Position Details Compensation: $34.10 - $44.35 per hour (depending on experience). Sign-On Bonus: $5,000. 4-Day Work Week: Thursday – Saturday 5:30 pm – 5:30 am; Wednesday 11:30 pm – 5:30 am. Tool Allowance, Quarterly Safety Incentive, Free Uniforms and Boot Allowance. Benefits start Day 1 of Employment. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and component inspections/repairs on fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units), identifying root cause of basic failures and completing required repairs. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts to ensure proper operating condition, replacing parts as needed. Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before being deemed road‑worthy. Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance in the online Enterprise Asset Management system. Install, replace, and repair onboard computers. Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools including pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, and hoists. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment and machinery. Train other employees. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 5–7 years of experience in medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair, including preventive maintenance, tire and wheel work, air and disc brake systems, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and electronic component repair. Minimum of 2 years' experience in A/C refrigeration. It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
