Role Description
Avcom SMT is seeking a Customer Account Coordinator to support customer communication, RFQ and quote tracking, documentation review, material coordination, and production readiness.

This is an entry-level or trainee-friendly role for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple active priorities. Prior PCB assembly experience is not required, but the candidate must be willing to learn technical terminology, customer documentation, electronic component sourcing, and manufacturing processes.

The role works closely with management, purchasing, production, quality, vendors, and customers to help keep projects organized and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

·         Receive, acknowledge, organize, and track customer RFQs, quote requests, and related documentation and review customer provided files for any missing information.

·         Support parts pricing by organizing BOMs, reviewing part information, gathering distributor pricing, and identifying lead-time, MOQ, availability, or obsolescence concerns.

·         Request PCB fabrication quotes from approved vendors and organize pricing, lead-time, and vendor responses for management review.

·         Assist with preparing quote packages, including pricing, lead times, assumptions, exclusions, material concerns, tooling, and special requirements.

·         Track open quotes, follow up as needed, and maintain accurate quote and customer records.

·         Review customer purchase orders against quoted pricing, quantity, revision, delivery expectations, and known requirements before internal handoff.

·         Track materials, PCBs, tooling, shortages, and customer-supplied components, and help confirm jobs are ready for production.

·         Maintain accurate records of customer communications, vendor responses, quote assumptions, open items, and internal decisions.

·         Escalate documentation issues, material concerns, schedule risks, customer questions, and other problems early rather than allowing them to become production or delivery issues.

Required Qualifications

·         Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to review detailed documentation, identify missing information, and ask questions when needed

·         Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities

·         Strong computer skills, including Excel, email, file management, and general business software

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following is helpful, but not required:

• Customer service, account coordination, project coordination, purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing support, or technical support
• Manufacturing, electronics, printed circuit boards, electronic components, BOMs, technical drawings, or ERP systems
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, purchasing, electronics, engineering technology, manufacturing, project management, or a related field

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Quality & Decision-Making Expectations

Accuracy and follow-through are critical. When customer requirements, revisions, parts, pricing, or documentation are unclear, the expectation is to stop and escalate rather than make assumptions. Final authority for pricing, quote release, delivery commitments, substitutions, deviations, and customer-impacting quality decisions remains with management.
