Strategic Accountant: Margin Insights & Process Improvement

A growing company in the Salem, NH area is looking for a strong Accountant to join their accounting team. This is a highly visible role working directly with finance leadership and partnering closely with operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys more than traditional accounting — someone who likes digging into numbers, improving processes, understanding the business, and helping drive better financial decisions. The right person will have a solid accounting foundation, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with different areas of the organization. Responsibilities: Support month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting Partner with operations teams to review costs, performance metrics, and business trends Support inventory accounting, costing, and related analysis Assist with margin analysis, profitability reporting, and special projects Help improve accounting procedures, processes, and internal controls Maintain accurate financial data within ERP systems Provide reporting and analysis to support leadership decision-making Assist with audits and documentation as needed Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of accounting experience Strong general accounting knowledge including reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis Operational accounting, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory experience is a plus Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and lookup functions ERP system experience preferred Ability to communicate with both finance and non-finance teams Someone who enjoys improving processes and taking ownership Why This Opportunity: High visibility working directly with finance leadership Opportunity to be a key contributor within the accounting function Mix of accounting, analysis, operations, and process improvement Growing organization with strong benefits and bonus potential #J-18808-Ljbffr Partnership Employment
