Vice President, Corporate Health & SafetyEnergy Fuels is seeking a highly experienced Health & Safety Professional. The Vice President, Corporate Health & Safety is responsible for developing, leading, and executing the company's global health and safety strategy across all operations. This leader will drive a culture of safety excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed risk management practices across mining, processing, and corporate environments. This role requires a visible, hands-on leader who partners closely with operations to proactively reduce risk, improve performance metrics, and reinforce a "zero harm" culture in a complex, multi-site mining organization. This role is critical to protecting the company's people, license to operate, and long-term value. The VP, Corporate Health & Safety will play a central role in shaping operational excellence, risk management, and corporate reputation in a highly regulated industry.This position is based in Energy Fuels' Lakewood, Colorado office and requires regular in-office collaboration with executive leadership and business teams.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive, enterprise-wide health & safety strategy aligned with corporate objectivesEstablish long-term safety vision, goals, and KPIs (TRIR, LTIR, near misses, leading indicators, etc.)Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and the Board on safety risk and performanceLead crisis management and incident response strategy at the corporate levelLead the integration of digital technology and data analytics into the company's safety strategyEvaluate and deploy emerging technologies (wearables, IoT sensors, AI-enabled monitoring) to enhance risk identification and preventionPosition the H&S function as a driver of operational innovation and safety culture not just compliancePartner with site leadership to drive consistent safety performance across all operationsStandardize safety programs, procedures, and management systems across sitesImplement leading practices in hazard identification, risk mitigation, and behavioral safetyEnsure integration of safety into operational planning, capital projects, and contractor managementLeverage predictive analytics and machine learning to identify leading indicators and anticipate incidentsOversee deployment of real-time monitoring systems and digital dashboards for safety-critical operationsEnsure safety integration into automation, remote operations, and autonomous systems as the company adopts new technologiesEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, and international standards (if applicable)Oversee audits, inspections, and regulatory interactionsMaintain enterprise safety governance frameworks and reporting structuresProvide regular reporting to executive leadership and Board committeesChampion a strong safety culture rooted in accountability, leadership, and employee engagementDesign and deploy training and leadership development programs related to safetyLead initiatives that promote workforce participation, including safety committees and field engagementDrive continuous improvement through data analytics and lessons learnedEmbed contemporary safety thinking alongside traditional compliance approachesBuild digital literacy within the H&S team to leverage technology effectivelyFoster psychological safety as a foundation for open reporting and learningOversee investigation of serious incidents and near-missesEnsure root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implementedIdentify enterprise-level risks and implement mitigation strategiesLead enterprise emergency preparedness and response planningBuild, lead, and develop a high-performing corporate and site-based H&S teamEstablish clear expectations, accountability, and performance management processesFoster collaboration between corporate and site safety functionsDrive adoption of safety technology including wearables, proximity detection, fatigue monitoring, and environmental sensorsEvaluate AI and computer vision applications for hazard recognition and behavioral observationOversee digital transformation of safety reporting, investigation, and assurance systemsEnsure safety-critical systems are resilient to cyber threats in partnership with IT/OT securityOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications/Education:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (master's preferred)Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred.15+ years of progressive health & safety leadership experience7–10+ years in senior leadership roles within mining, energy, or heavy industryExperience in a public company environment strongly preferredDeep knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety practicesExperience with safety management systems (ISO 45001 or equivalent)Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniquesFamiliarity with ESG and sustainability reporting related to safetyFamiliarity with safety technology platforms, data analytics tools, and digital reporting systemsUnderstanding of AI/ML applications in safety and their limitationsAwareness of human factors and cognitive science as applied to safetyKnowledge of contemporary safety thinking and systems-thinking approachesExecutive presence with the ability to influence at all levels of the organizationProven ability to drive cultural change in complex, decentralized environmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication skills, including Board-level reportingCuriosity and openness to emerging technology and new ways of workingAbility to translate complex data into actionable insights for operational leadersComfort operating in ambiguity as the industry undergoes technological transformationPhysical/Sensory Demands:Ability to travel to company sites frequently, both domestically and internationallyAbility to
