CNC Machinist - 1st & 2nd shift

Qualifications, Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required CNC machining certificate from trade school or relevant work experience preferred or in lieu of certificate Experience with G & M codes required Ability to perform basic math functions, including basic trigonometry Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required; aerospace industry experience strongly preferred Knowledge of Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and Okuma controls is a plus Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person Physical Requirements Lift, push, and/or pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds regularly Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary Stand at least 95% of the scheduled shift Walk or climb stairs as needed to perform job duties Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus; 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) is required, with the ability to pass the annual vision test as required Work Hours 1st shift – 7:00am‑3:30pm Mon‑Fri (OT may be required as needed) 2nd shift – 3:30pm‑12:00am Mon‑Fri (OT may be required as needed) Job Responsibilities Set up and operate various CNC machines, including 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis milling machines, VTLs, horizontal lathes, creep feed, and five‑axis grinders Upload/download and edit CNC programs as required Analyze and interpret operating sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications Use measuring tools and equipment to verify the conformance of finished workpieces to requirements Maintain a working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes Analyze and interpret CMM reports/data Perform deburring operations to within specified tolerances Select, align, and secure fixtures, tooling, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required Capable of running multiple machines when assigned Operate the overhead crane when necessary Document activity on control charts, travelers, quality logs, etc., and report labor in an ERP system Operate in accordance with AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation Communicate effectively and maintain a working relationship with Quality, Engineering, and Management Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs Detect and troubleshoot malfunctions with equipment and processes; request assistance from support personnel as needed Perform any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values Additional Requirements and Soft Skills Dependability, integrity, cooperation, and taking the initiative for work responsibilities and challenges are critical Always take ownership and be accountable for your actions Reliable attendance and a respectful demeanor are a must Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE Maintain a clean and organized workspace Ability to work efficiently with others or independently as required Integrity and conscientiousness in all work-related matters Safety conscious always Reliable attendance within acceptable standards of attendance policy Complex problem solving with critical math skills Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English Must be able to clearly communicate information to others verbally and in writing in English Benefits Hi‑Tek offers competitive wages and a full benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 9 paid holidays per year, paid vacation time, a 401(k) plan with company match, HSA & Flex Spending programs, supplemental health plans, and more.
