Job Description

Major duties for this position are listed below:

1. Identifies problems, determines their nature and scope, evaluates available alternatives, and recommends appropriate courses of action.
2. Works with clients and customers, including the public, agency employees, representatives of other Federal agencies, and organizations outside the Government, to assess needs, provide information and assistance, resolve issues, and meet service expectations.
3. Coordinates with internal and external officials on assignments crossing organizational or geographic lines. Facilitates communication, obtains necessary information, and promotes timely completion of work.
4. May log, monitor, and track high-level requests and correspondence received from the White House, Executive Offices, Congress, and State and local government officials to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate responses. Monitors suspense dates and coordinates with responsible staff to ensure completion.
5. Advises staff and stakeholders on technical and procedural matters related to assigned program functions and office operations.
6. Uses effective oral communication to respond to inquiries, advise and consult with customers, explain technical information, and present recommendations to management and other officials.
7. Assists executive leadership and key staff in management planning, policy development, and decision-making sessions. Provides analysis of issues, goals, and initiatives and recommends options for consideration by management.
8. Expedites priority projects and assignments of a sensitive, urgent, or high-visibility nature. Assists in developing action plans, milestones, and strategies for completing such assignments.
9. Develops, revises, and refines operating procedures and program requirements to improve the effectiveness of office operations and administrative processes. Ensures recommendations are consistent with agency goals, regulations, and management objectives.
