FSEs provide service for histology laboratory equipment addressing any needs, concerns, and questions they might have. Working with their assigned Service Coordinator, coordinate schedule with customer and maintain communication regarding estimated time of arrival, job status, equipment status, and time of completion and departure from account along with their direct manager and the customer. Perform all service calls to the Avantik standards of training and protocol ensuring they are upholding company core values at all times.Essential functions:Perform emergency repairs and preventative maintenance according to Avantik service levels and the documented PM protocols.Maintain possession of proper parts inventory necessary for emergency repairs and PM tasksEvaluate client labs for additional service opportunitiesCompile necessary service reports for repairs and PM date stickers for all instruments serviceCoordinate schedule with client and maintain communication regarding estimated time of arrivalRecord service reports and send to Service Coordinator electronically at the time of service while onsite at the customers locationFollow up with Service Coordinator to ensure service documentation is up to date and completeRestock inventory as parts become available. Take physical inventory of warehouse as requestedAttend scheduled FSE meetings as requiredCoordinate all quotes with the office staffGenerate equipment sales/service/repair leadsGenerate sales leads by watching for potential consumable solutions, by attentively observing client needs while on-siteFollow up on any pending contract renewals and PM jobs that have not yet been closedReport service issues and/or customer feedback to your managerMaintain an organized service vehicle ensuring successful site visits for upcoming weekCompetencies:Basic mechanical aptitude and skillsTime management skillsBasic PC skillsSolid verbal and written communication skillsTeam playerNegotiation skillsAbility to interpret schematics and illustrated parts drawingsAbility to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of timeManual dexterity, hand-eye coordinationTravel reqTravel (car is provided) is required to provide service at customer locations*Overnight stays are required on an as needs basis to complete service needs of the customerAvantik is an integrated medical products and services company delivering superior quality instruments, reagents, consumables, and service to the anatomic pathology market consisting of hospital, reference, and physician office laboratories in the US.
