Location: YOTEL Boston Position: Bartender (Boston) Bartender Position Overview We are seeking a professional bartender who is energetic, responsible and able to work in a customer service focused fast-paced environment. Our Food and Beverage offerings include two distinct restaurants in Boston – Deck12 and VELA. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Additional skills include the ability to multitask, work as a team, and service customers with a smile. Wine knowledge is a requirement. TIPS certified is a plus. Part‑time availability able to work weekday and weekend shifts. Bartenders are responsible for greeting and serving YOTEL Boston’s guests in a genuine and friendly manner. They prepare beverages requested by guests and monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease; they notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; they check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting alcoholic beverage service is questionable. Bartender Major Duties & Responsibilities Represent the cocktail list and present cocktails to guests, explaining the art behind each creation, introducing the magic of flavors to create memorable experiences. Communicate all cocktail related facts to all service staff. Organize tastings of new cocktails based on seasonal menu changes. Support dining room staff / prepare drinks and beverages for guests. Perform bartending duties in a timely manner adjusted to the business volume. Ensure the bar is stocked with all needed liquor brands, beers and wines by the glass, all needed ingredients and garnishes. Validate cocktail menu – cleanliness and correct pricing. Ensure the bar area is up to health department standards. Assist and work closely with other bartenders performing bartender duties. Communicate any bar and beverage related problems to managers. Position Requirements Bartender Skills / Qualifications Multiple years of mixology experience with a strong creative approach to crafting beverages. Welcoming, personable individual who enjoys building genuine guest interactions. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining composure in a fast‑paced environment. Strong organizational skills preferred. Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
