Description

Our client, a Property Management firm based in Brookfield, Wisconsin is seeking an Accounting Specialist. This company provides "all things real estate" services to a variety of both residential and commercial clients. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial records, timely invoicing, and smooth payment processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong communication and problem-solving skills. The role is based in Brookfield, WI and pays $55K-$65K with 2 weeks of PTO. The role hosts normal M-F hours with high flexibility for work/life balance.

The key to this role is recent and relevant general accounting experience in the real estate arena. The incumbent will:

• Calculate, post and manage accounting/bookkeeping figures and financial records
• Check accounting records for accuracy, track invoices and payments, and maintain a system for organizing company documents
• Oversee the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate records on accounts payable and receivable, payroll and daily financial entries and reconciliations
• Maintains records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recording of journal entries, asset depreciation schedules, rental/lease filing and reports
• Process rent incomes and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) computations for commercial properties.
• Administer payroll for employees.
• Manages vendors, final account statements, and audits,
• Actively participate in the collection of outstanding money owed from renters/clients.
• Work with Tax Accountant Service to assure financial information is correct and ready for yearly tax process.
• Work with past MS Dynamics - Great plains software to access 2024 and earlier records
• Efficiently move to Quickbooks in 2025 - data entry will be required.
• Utilize MS-Excel and Adobe software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping and/or general accounting.
• 1+ years running or assisting in running payroll
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Software
• Proficiency in MS365 - Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.

Preferred but not required skills

• Bachelors or Associates degree
• Experience with MS Dynamics - Great Plains Software technology
• Experience in the Real Estate business
• Experience in calculating CAM Payments
• Experience in the construction industry
