School-Age Childcare Staff

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Program at Arthur S. May School in Poughkeepsie, NY for the 2026–2027 school year.

Location: Arthur S. May School in Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Schedule: Follows the school calendar. Morning Program: 6:30 AM - 8:45 AM. Afternoon Program: 2:00 PM-6:30 PM. Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Job Status: Part-time, non-exempt

Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Position Responsibilities:

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years or older and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
