Title: Recruiting Specialist Pay Type: Full-time, Salaried Location: West Des Moines, IA Remote Type: Hybrid (2 days in office in West Des Moines, IA, 3 days remote following training period) Reports To: Recruiting Manager About Wright Canada Holdings Wright Canada Holdings is an employee‑owned company formed in 2017 that leads several environmental services industries across Canada. The company includes Spectrum Resource Group, Wright Tree Service of Canada, ArborCare®, and CNUC of Canada and provides integrated vegetation management, consulting, and operations services. Job Summary The Recruiting Specialist provides full‑cycle recruiting support for Canadian‑based positions while working from the Des Moines, IA office. The role partners closely with Hiring Managers and the Recruiting Manager to manage ongoing hiring needs across multiple Canadian companies. The position requires experience with Canadian employment laws, immigration considerations, and regional hiring practices, although training is available for suitable candidates. Essential Job Functions Coordinate recruiting processes for designated company/division by communicating frequently with hiring managers to understand workforce needs. Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods based on company needs and industry standards. Collaborate with hiring managers to maintain detailed and accurate job postings and hiring criteria. Compile and analyze data to make recommendations on the most cost‑efficient advertising sources for recruiting. Initiate job requisitions for open positions within the Human Resource Information System. Coordinate job postings within the Human Resource Information System and place and monitor job postings/advertisements across other channels (online media and print). Screen candidates and select qualified candidates for interviews with hiring managers. Verify candidate credentials, including experience, certificates, and references. Coordinate and assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with hiring managers and other stakeholders as necessary. Coordinate the preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials. Initiate employment offers under direction of HR Manager and hiring managers using defined business processes and templates in the Human Resource Information System. Provide candidate follow‑up communications regarding offer and next steps or declines for the position. Coordinate all pre‑employment checks per HR and Safety/Risk policies using the Human Resource Information System or associated systems. Actively onboard and orient new employees and maintain consistent communication with hiring managers and employees. Attend job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities to attract candidates and grow the company’s recruitment brand. Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies in recruiting practices. Perform administrative duties for company/division operations leadership as needed. Other Duties These duties may change at any time. Support and participate in the Wright family of company’s culture of safety and employee ownership, comply with applicable federal, provincial, and local laws, maintain attendance, and travel up to 20% for recruitment events and onboarding. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. At least two (2) years’ experience in high‑volume recruitment. SHRM‑CP or CPHR preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and quick learning of applicant‑tracking systems. Knowledge of federal, provincial, and local hiring laws and regulations. Ability to work independently and in a team with a proactive work style and accountability. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills focusing on rapport building, listening, questioning, and patience. Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and departments. Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail and time management. Proficiency in English; additional language proficiency is highly preferred.
