Roeper is currently recruiting for a 60% Part-Time Payroll and Benefits Associate. Position Summary The Payroll and Benefits Associate is responsible for supporting the Human Resource Manager and Accounting through accurately and efficiently processing payroll and administering employee benefits programs, data entry, and account reconciliation. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of full-cycle payroll processes and its alignment with Benefits Administration. Key Responsibilities Performs all activities necessary to prepare and process payroll. Collect, review, and input payroll data including new hire entries, personnel changes, rate changes, stipends, time worked, paid leave, vacation, and holidays Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, contributions, and other deductions Manage payroll processing. Maintain accurate record of payroll transactions Audit transactions to ensure that payroll is processed in accordance with acceptable payroll standards and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, benefits enrollment, and other payroll related changes Assist with payroll related general ledger account reconciliation Review and reconcile payroll advance account transactions Facilitate the integration and maintenance of payroll and Benefits systems or related software Verifies enrollment and/or disenrollment of benefit coverages processed through Electronic Data Interchange between school’s benefit software and external vendors Collaborate with external vendors, such as benefits providers and payroll service providers, to identify, address and resolve issues that may impact benefit coverage and/or payroll deductions Ensure that benefit elections, changes, and/or waivers are accurately recorded both in payroll and on vendor invoices Review and reconcile health insurance invoices and provide substantiating documentation for bank drafts, check requests, and monthly bank reconciliation Provide general administrative support to Human Resource Manager with focus on payroll processing, benefits administration, and related functions Provide general administrative assistance to Accounting and perform duties necessary to contribute to producing work that is compliant and assisting in preparing for annual financial audit Skills Demonstrated proficiency in payroll processing, bookkeeping, or accounting Experienced in use of Microsoft Office Professional software and HRIS Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Paycor or similar systems Experience in benefits administration Organized with ability to effectively prioritize multiple time sensitive projects Maintains high level of ethics, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to form collaborative work relationships Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency work and to perform responsibilities in accordance with Roeper's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include job-related work experience; industry experience; education; skills; and knowledge.
