Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in New London, CT.Summary:Our client, a nonprofit organization in the higher education space, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations, audit activities, grant accounting, and process improvement initiatives. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with strong long-term growth potential.Responsibilities:

• Prepare complex account reconciliations and journal entries
• Support month-end close, financial reporting, and grant accounting
• Assist with audit preparation and ongoing finance projects
• Perform financial analysis and resolve accounting issues independently
• Identify process improvements and system efficiencies
• Partner with finance leadership on key initiatives

Skills

• 3+ years of Senior Accountant experience
• Nonprofit accounting experience required
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Grant accounting experience
• Strong Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Higher education accounting experience
• Blackbaud experience
• Process improvement or automation experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
