Krones Inc Under the leadership of the Head of Site Management, the Digital Onsite Lead works onsite at customer facilities across the United States to coordinate and execute digital tools during the commissioning of production lines. This role serves as the primary onsite liaison between the Program Lead and the IT Project Manager, ensuring digital readiness, operational stability, and a smooth handover to Life Cycle Alliance (LCA) and customer teams. Extensive travel across the U.S. to customer sites during commissioning; this is a primarily onsite role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure digital readiness and operational stability of digital tools on the production line during commissioning.
- Coordinate commissioning activities as well as customer and LCA onboarding related to digital products.
- Provide onsite support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to digital products and systems.
- Act as the primary onsite interface with local teams, including the customer, Krones commissioning team, and LCA.
- Support data validation to ensure quality, accuracy, and reliability of digital products onsite.
- Monitor, track, and report project status, risks, and deviations to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate software updates onsite and perform post‑update validation to ensure system stability and functionality.
- Communicate department and company information in a timely and accurate manner to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Encourage open communication, feedback, and collaboration among team members and colleagues.
- Demonstrate a cooperative, courteous, and respectful attitude toward internal and external customers and collaborate with other Krones departments as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience typically gained through 3–5 years in electrical and network programming.
- Basic project management skills for a coordinator/lead role (e.g., task scheduling, coordination, risk/issue tracking, stakeholder communication; MS Project experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in at least one higher‑level programming language (e.g., C#, Python, SQL, JavaScript, or Rust).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Digital tools implementation and project coordination during commissioning or within industrial environments.
- IT/OT networking experience, including segmentation concepts and plant-floor connectivity.
- Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal).
- Containerization & orchestration: Docker and/or Kubernetes (cluster concepts and deployment basics).
- Cloud fundamentals: Basic understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) services commonly used in industrial digitalization (e.g., data ingestion, storage, dashboards).
- Programming languages (priority order): C#, Python, SQL, JavaScript, Rust.
- Cisco networking certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP/CCIE) are nice to have but not required.
- Tooling: MS Office; project scheduling software (preferably MS Project); experience using Microsoft Windows tools.
- Krones portfolio familiarity (nice to have).
- Foundational business acumen; structural and process knowledge; awareness of policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Cybersecurity awareness and knowledge of industry best practices appropriate to IT/OT environments (e.g., secure configuration, least privilege, patching cadence, incident reporting).
- Comfortable collaborating with customers to understand pain points and resolve issues with a solution-driven mindset.
- Strong decision‑making and independent judgment in dynamic project environments.
- Effective teamwork, problem‑solving, leadership, and general project management capabilities.
- Excellent self‑management, time management, organization, and communication skills.
- Promotes open communication and constructive feedback across stakeholders.
