VanSpeag Group (VSG) is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support precision machining operations in Plainfield, IL. This is a hands-on role for a programmer who can take parts from print to production with minimal oversight, working across both lathe and milling platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program CNC lathes and mills using Mastercam
- Develop, edit, and optimize toolpaths for efficiency and quality
- Set up, prove out, and troubleshoot new programs at the machine
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for a variety of materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications
- Support first-article inspection and continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering teams
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in Mastercam (required)
- Strong proficiency in both lathe and milling programming/operation
- Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T
- Experience with setups, offsets, and program prove-outs
- Solid understanding of tooling, workholding, and machining best practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a production or job shop environment
- Multi-axis machining experience a plus
