Associate Researcher

Research Associate, Formulation Development We are seeking a hands‑on Research Associate to join a growing Formulation Development team in San Diego, CA. This is a fully on‑site, laboratory‑based role supporting experimental work across small molecule formulation development programs, with some opportunity to grow into Sr. RA‑level responsibility depending on experience. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working independently with clear direction in a quality‑driven environment. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys bench work, data analysis, and contributing to formulation development and production support activities. Key Responsibilities Support day‑to‑day laboratory operations, including sample preparation, sample analysis, and general lab support. Assist with the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments under the guidance of senior scientists. Contribute to formulation development and characterization, including solubility, stability, release, and physicochemical testing. Operate and maintain analytical and formulation equipment, including HPLC‑UV. Support non‑GLP and GLP production activities in accordance with SOPs and quality systems. Analyze data and prepare tables, summaries, and reports. Maintain accurate documentation in an electronic lab notebook and follow Good Documentation Practices. Help improve processes and contribute to team goals. Required Qualifications B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field. 2+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Small molecule experience required. At least 1 year of industry experience working under Good Documentation Practices. Hands‑on experience running samples on HPLC. Experience with sample preparation and analytical characterization in early‑phase formulation and/or process development. Working knowledge of quality systems and experience in a regulated environment. Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Experience with sterile injectable and/or ophthalmic dosage forms. Experience with LC‑UV or additional characterization techniques. Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks such as Benchling. Exposure to GLP production support or CMC documentation for IND submissions. #J-18808-Ljbffr BioPhase
