Product & Regulatory Counsel

Role Summary: We are looking for a Product & Regulatory Counsel to join our Legal team and help shape the future of business banking. This role will work closely with senior leadership, bank partners, and cross‑functional teams to support Novo’s legal, regulatory, and product initiatives. You will play a key role in navigating complex regulatory environments, advising on product development, and ensuring Novo operates in compliance with applicable financial laws and partner requirements. About the role: Partner with product, compliance, and business teams to provide practical legal guidance on product development and regulatory requirements Serve as a key legal point of contact for bank partner relationships, supporting ongoing regulatory and contractual matters Interpret and advise on U.S. banking regulations, including customer protection frameworks such as UDAAP Support the management of litigation matters, including coordination with external counsel Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements and partner contracts Provide clear, business‑oriented legal advice to senior management and cross‑functional stakeholders Support internal teams on regulatory change management and implementation Assist with employment and HR‑related legal matters as needed Requirements for the role: 5–8 years of legal experience, preferably within fintech, banking, or financial services Strong knowledge of U.S. banking regulations, including customer protection and payments‑related frameworks Experience working with or advising on bank partnership models or sponsor bank relationships Proven ability to manage external counsel and complex legal matters Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and support a growing startup Preferred qualifications: Experience working in a fintech or startup environment Background in product counseling within regulated industries Exposure to payments, lending, or embedded finance products Combination of law firm and in‑house experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
