A warm and welcoming private household is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and discreet Family Assistant to support the lady of the home. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in creating a well-run, peaceful household and enjoys providing thoughtful, day-to-day support.

The primary residence is a single-level home in Santa Barbara, where the role is based year-round. The principal spends part of the year in Palm Beach and occasionally in Virginia. The Family Assistant will provide light travel support a few times per year—helping the principal transition between residences—before returning to Santa Barbara to oversee the home.

This is a semi-formal household that values reliability and positivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage household errands (groceries, dry cleaning, returns, post office, etc.)
• Provide light housekeeping and general home upkeep (in collaboration with a housekeeper who works 4 days/week)
• Handle laundry, organization, and maintaining tidy living spaces
• Prepare simple, healthy meals (with a focus on organic, non-toxic ingredients; soups and light dishes)
• Provide attentive pet care (one dog and two cats)
• Oversee package deliveries and home maintenance needs
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers as needed
• Assist with general household management and daily flow
• Travel with the principal 2–3 times per year (typically short trips) to assist with transitions between homes

• Standard schedule is typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility as needed
• Health benefit contribution open for discussion
• PTO – While there is no formal PTO structure, the principal spends several months each year in Palm Beach, during which household demands are significantly lighter. This provides flexibility for extended time off, which can be coordinated in advance.
