Chef Assistant
A Chef Assistant is needed for a private family/estate in the Detroit/Birmingham area. This position is mainly a Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm position (with some changes as events arise).
Chef Assistant Benefits:
- Full-time hourly rate plus overtime eligible. Base rate of $28 to $30 per hour.

Chef Assistant Responsibility:
- Assist Executive Chef with meal planning, grocery shopping and preparations/cook of all meals while maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
- Source and order high-quality ingredients, keeping track of inventory and ensuring freshness.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist with managing inventory of food and beverages throughout all properties.
- Ability to adapt to new techniques, recipes, client preferences and requests.
Chef Assistant Requirements:
- Must have a basic understanding of various cuisines, ingredients, and cooking techniques. With a passion for learning new cooking techniques, candidates should also have basic butchery, baking and pasta making skills.
- Capable to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when needed, sometimes including weekends, nights and holidays.
- Good verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and relay information effectively.
- Reliable personal transportation is required. Experience working for a private family.
