JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant III assists in the development, implementation, and administration of various corporate financial and general accounting.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

· Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

· Complete tasks, reporting, and reconciliations associated with fixed assets, general ledger, journal entries, job costing, billings, and treasury.

· Support project managers and operations personnel with financial reporting and project accounting inquiries.

· Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely.

· Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for divisions, subsidiaries, or the company.

· Prepare various cost/statistical reports for corporate management review.

· Prepare financial data for inclusion in bid proposals and other similar packages.

· Assist with all internal/external audit processes and implementation of audit recommendations.

· Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

· Provide recommendations and assist in implementation of efficient and cost-effective solutions to business and financial problems.

· Interface with management, operations, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other departments to ensure the accuracy of information and resolve discrepancies.

· Support federal, state, local, and international tax reporting requirements.

· Assist with preparation and review of information requested by tax advisors and regulatory agencies.

· Support ERP system maintenance, testing, upgrades, and process improvements.

· Provide guidance and training to coworkers on accounting procedures and best practices.

· Participate in cross-functional projects and special assignments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or Audit, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.

· Experience with one or more accounting software systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· CPA certification.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments, modify schedules, and alter the sequence of steps as necessary to obtain desired results.

· Data input with a high degree of accuracy.

· Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to objectively interpret and analyze data.

· Ability to make sound recommendations based on analysis of data.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of all data.

· Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

· Should possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.

· Must be able to lead a team toward accomplishing team and company goals.

· Evidence of strong customer focus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

· Work is performed primarily indoors.

· Occasional travel by automobile and/or air travel with overnight stays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

· Occasional climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching.

· Visual acuity to drive an automobile and to read printed and electronic documents.

· High level of mental/visual effort required to assure accuracy of information entered into the computer systems.

· Lifting and/or exerting of force up to 30 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds of lifting/force frequently, and up to 5 pounds of lifting/force constantly to move objects.

· Occasional driving of motor vehicles
