Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Must possess a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Current acute care experience in specialty Description: This position provides care for patients diagnosed with acute leukemia and hematology. Registered nurses will primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4, but may be adjusted to 1:5 based on patient needs. The position requires monitoring of telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Skills required include administration of blood products, IV therapy, and managing ports. Experience with computerized charting is necessary. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary support including therapy and pharmacy services. Schedules may vary, and weekend shifts are determined based on unit needs. Preferred qualifications include oncology experience, but this is not mandatory. Candidates must complete fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process.
