Job Title: Psychologist / Neuropsychologist / Licensed Counselor

Location: Richmond, VA 23233
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | On-site

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and licensed Psychologist, Neuropsychologist, or Counselor to join a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing behavioral health services to adults recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) . This role involves psychological assessments, individual and family counseling, behavioral interventions, crisis management, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support each patient's rehabilitation journey.

Patient Population

• Adults recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

• Adults recovering from Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Caseload

• Approximately 25-30 patients , though the active caseload is often lower.

• Majority of patients are residential , living within the rehabilitation program.

• Approximately 2 patients participate in the day treatment program.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological and behavioral assessments.

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment and behavioral support plans.

• Perform or coordinate neuropsychological evaluations as appropriate.

• Provide crisis intervention and behavioral management.

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and behavioral interventions.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and monitor patient progress.

• Participate in discharge planning and caregiver education.

• Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and state licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Active state license (Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LCSW, or equivalent).

• Experience providing counseling and behavioral health services.

• Knowledge of neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation, and behavioral therapy techniques is preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
